The PCI 1394 is a PCI to IEEE 1394/ USB Host Adapter for PCs. Certain peripherals are powered directly from the FireWire bus. These are often referred to as nonself- powered or "pocket drives." Normally, the PCI bus can handle no more than two of these drives before causing erratic behavior in FireWire bus performance. The Fusion 400 has an optional internal power connector capable of supplying the FireWire bus with up to 1.5 amps for connection of nonself-powered peripherals.
